A vineyard perched on a hillside, at an altitude
of 200 metres, in the centre of the eight hamlets which
comprise the village of Sabran in the Gard.
The vineyard of Sabran benefits from a South/ South-Eastern
exposure. It lies on the right bank of the Rhône,
4 kilometres west of the town of Bagnols sur Cèze.
It has a Mediterranean climate with a great deal of sunshine.
It also benefits from the Mistral wind which blows along
the Rhône valley.
At the same latitude, on the left bank of the Rhône,
the major vineyards of the Vaucluse can be found: Gigondas
- Vacqueyras and Châteauneuf du Pape.
The soils are composed alternately of sand and
loess. It is very rocky on the surface and lies on lime
and silicaceous sandstone which provides good water balance
and facilitates the development of very deep roots.
