The qualitative potential of the soil lies in its low fertility (the fruit ripens better when the vine has difficult growing and, therefore, has to search deep in the very heart of the earth).

At the Domaine de Graillefiot, our policy is:

• The use of small quantities of very ripe manure which we have made ourselves. This is solely made up of cow manure to which we add the seven Biodynamic preparations which serve to enrich the compost. Nitrogen content is insignificant. We believe that the low quantities of nitrogen provided by rainwater are sufficient for all of our vineyard.
